When will Arnaud Schneider be able to coach again? The fencing master of the Cercle d’escrime Orléans (CEO), which was the subject of a report several months ago, was provisionally suspended on June 22 by the prefecture of Loiret. This precautionary measure can run for six months.
The coach of the CEO is blamed “sexist remarks” and “phenomena of influence” that can affect the psychological and mental health of athletes. Arnaud Schneider runs around twenty of them, including some of the best in the world, between the club, the sports section of the Charles-Péguy high school in Orléans and the Christian Bauer academy. The fencing master of the Cercle d’escrime Orléans has been suspended on a provisional basis.
Refused to the sports section of excellence of the Lycée Péguy
It all started from a young fencer to whom access to the sports section of excellence of the Charles-Péguy high school in Orléans has been refused by a commission. He has since left the Cercle d’escrime Orléans for another club in the agglomeration.
Were the words of Arnaud Schneider, his trainer, inappropriate? Were his words too harsh?
The denunciation of the young boy for “bad treatments” and “suicide attempt” with the federal authorities generated the report which, following the ordinary administrative procedure, led the Departmental Directorate of Youth, Sports and Social Cohesion to open an investigation, mid-January.
A second unfavorable testimony
Testimonies were collected, including that of Patricia Réguigne, the president of the CEO (and mother-in-law, since June 24, of Arnaud Schneider); members of the Gémenos club, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, where the technician practiced before joining Orléans, were also contacted. A young swordswoman (since mounted at INSEP, the National Institute of Sport and Performance) would then have denounced the behavior of Arnaud Schneider, who counts among the most promising coaches of the next generation French fencing.
Arnaud Schneider, who has not yet been interviewed by the investigator from the Departmental Directorate of Youth, Sports and Social Cohesion, should try to raise the measure that affects it to the administrative court.
