The call for applications is launched on 19 May for this prize, which is part of Roularta’s desire to act in favor of the United Nations objectives for sustainable development.

The world faces a major industrial revolution. The energy transition, to meet the climate challenge, was already on an unprecedented scale. It must now be carried out in a new, disrupted geopolitical context, where the defense of democratic values has a significant cost.

It is no coincidence that the Roularta group commits to four United Nations goals for sustainable development.

Nor by chance if, in this context, Trends Tendances launches for the first year a prize, called Impactcalled to become the equivalent of the Manager of the year for a better planet.

It is a question of encouraging and promoting good intentions, innovative spirits and revolutionary energies, in the good sense of the term.

Concretely, this prize is launched this Thursday, May 19 by a call for applications launched to companies wishing to participate. The prizes, in six categories, will be awarded next November.

Objective of this Impact award?

Awarding the most prestigious prizes in Belgium for projects and companies that generate positive and lasting impact and create lasting value for our society as a whole, in line with the most important ESG criteria and SDG objectives. The term “impact” is not anecdotal: it is chosen in order to focus on the impact and the results of the measures taken by companies.

What categories?

Different categories of Trends Impact awards are offered, due to the huge diversity of ESG criteria & SDG objectives and the difficulty for a company to obtain a perfect score on all criteria. They have been rigorously determined with the support of the Antwerp Management school.

The categories will be scalable and stand the test of time to give companies the opportunity to participate for multiple years and improve their scores over time.

Six categories are planned:

Ecology – preserving and regenerating nature

Circular economy – every waste is a raw material

Inclusion and diversity – producing, sharing and consuming together

Wellness – contributing to a healthy lifestyle

Digitization – technology connects and brings people together

Resilience – preventing and quickly overcoming crises

For all categories, a prize will be awarded to two types of companies: large companies on the one hand, small and medium-sized companies on the other.

Practically?

You can express your positive impact on the planet and submit your project in a few clicks from this Thursday, May 19 and until July 7 on www.trendsimpactawards.be

The juries will meet in July for a first selection. For each of the categories, a group of experts will be composed. Their role is to assess each application and select the projects and companies that will move on to the next phase of in-depth review.

Companies nominated for the in-depth review will be individually consulted and visited by PwC experts to examine in detail their project as well as the company’s sustainability initiatives and organization.

The winners obtain the Trends Impact label. They will be rewarded at the gala on November 30.
