At the start of the NBA season, it is always interesting to look at the finances of each franchise. The payroll and the types of salaries offered during the summer allow us to better understand where a team stands, its strategy and what ambitions it can nurture in the short and medium term. This season, the Luxury Tax threshold has been set at $150,267,000 and the Salary Cap at $123,655,000, enough to spend a few warm winters. And the strategies diverge, between those who have sea urchins in their pockets and those who do not hesitate to put their players well by agreeing to pay small fines to the League. The Spurs, for example, are only using 80 of the authorized $123 million, they could give anyone the biggest salary in the NBA and they would still be in the nails. But no, their highest paid player is Doug McBermott, at 13 million, hello investment. It can be seen that we are here to tank and not win matches. In contrast, we have the Clippers with a payroll of $191 million and all that should lead to a payment of $144 million, directly in the finances of Adam Silver. Clips owner Steve Balmer is rich and clearly doesn’t care. The goal is the title at the end and we put the package to get there, it’s Paul George and Kawhi Leonard who are happy.
