NBA calendar season 2022/2023: October 18, opening of the season and presentation of the rings
It’s been 125 days since the Golden State Warriors won the 2022 NBA title, against the Boston Celtics after a fight in 6 games. A 4th Larry O’Brien trophy in 8 seasons for Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Steve Kerr which takes them into another dimension. And this Tuesday, October 18, the Golden State Warriors will receive their NBA champion rings from Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner. A moment always apart in a career, where emotion and communion with the fans take over the match that follows. This will also be the time to hang a new banner at the top of the Chase Center and which will join those of the 2015, 2017 and 2018 titles! After the discount, a match will still have to be played, against the Lakers of Lebron James and Anthony Davis, who will want to spoil the Warriors party!
The other match for this NBA season opener will pit the unfortunate finalists of the last play-offs, the Boston Celtics of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, against the Philadelphia 76ers of Joel Embiid and James Harden. Two big shocks to launch hostilities!

NBA calendar: MLK Day, this day that goes beyond sport
MLK Day (Martin Luther Kind Day) is a public holiday in the United States which is celebrated on the third Monday of January in honor of Martin Luther King, American pastor assassinated in Memphis in 1968. Engaged in the fight against the social segregation and known for his famous “I have a dream” speech which called for equality between all races in the USA, the pastor had an impact on many African-Americans. To pay tribute to him, the NBA therefore decided in 1986 to dedicate its evening to him with almost all the teams on deck, speeches before the game, t-shirts in his name, etc. An evening apart in the NBA calendar, which records very good audiences.
And for this important evening for the NBA, the most beautiful poster will oppose Ja Morant’s Memphis Grizzlies to the Phoenix Suns. Rudy Gobert will see his former Jazz team visit him in Minnesota, while Jimmy Butler and his Heat team will travel to Georgia to challenge Trae Young and the Hawks in a remake of the first round of the last play-offs .
