From April 29 to May 1, 2022, the Alpes-Maritimes Department will host a series of sports activities for a unique and original experience throughout its territory. The department indeed benefits from a varied territory composed of coastline and peaks, associated with a climate conducive to the realization of winter and summer activities. Taking advantage of this ideal geographical location, the department wanted to organize a multi-activity festival, free and open to all, while encouraging the preservation of the environment.

Air and sea sports…

It’s unprecedented and it’s in the Alpes Maritimes that it’s happening. The Outdoor Festival 06 wishes to promote the geographical and sporting heritage of the territory to make it a flagship destination for outdoor practice. With, on the program, exhibitions, conferences, films in theaters and competitions for a variety of entertainment.

Square Verdun in Cannes will serve as the base camp for the event, where visitors can learn about various activities. Lovers of new sensations will enjoy playing with the terrain made up of bumps and banked turns on a pump track, or mastering their balance during slackline sessions. For those who wish to gain height, it will be possible to discover the vertiginous sensations during climbing or tree climbing sessions. For a more fun activity, a Big air installed on site will allow you to practice different figures in the air.

Athletes in search of plenitude will enjoy refocusing their energy during yoga or Polynesian canoe sessions, for softer sensations. The paddle, an activity combining balance work and the pleasure of sliding on the water, will convince more than one of the benefits it provides. For the most dynamic, the long coast allows you to combine walking with a fun activity, consisting of going up the coast not on land but in the sea!

…but still on earth and underground.

This event is not to be missed thanks to the presence of many ambassadors, all disciplines combined, and in particular in mountain biking. Athletes looking for a challenge will be able to practice alongside Loïc Bruni, 4 times world champion in downhill mountain biking, and twice winner of the downhill mountain biking World Cup. Dedicated routes will allow you to practice mountain biking techniques while benefiting from an idyllic exercise setting.

Friends will be able to challenge each other during orienteering, and also work on their agility by practicing archery. Children will also find something for them: sand castle competitions will leave unforgettable memories to share with the family!

For those who want to play Journey to the Center of the Earth of Jules Verne, caving or canyoning workshops will allow you to discover an unknown world.
