Walked from team to team since his pro debut, Mac McClung had landed in Golden State two months ago. However, the Californians have just made a big decision about the American nugget, thus impacting its future on the floors of the big league.
For a player with just two NBA games under his belt, Mac McClung’s name is still pretty well known to big league audiences. It must be said that if his talent is not necessarily the greatest of all (not drafted in 2021), the young fullback has regularly been able to shine on the side of the G League with some big performances. Insufficient, however, to stay in a franchise for a long time, whether at the Lakers or the Bulls.
Arrived at the Warriors at the beginning of the summer, however, he seemed to be able to count on his lucky star with great performances in the Summer League, and the obvious will of its leaders to develop it. Except that in the NBA, everything goes very quickly and even more so with the defending champion who cannot take any risks. Result, Shams Charania has just announced that McClung had been cut by the Dubs, thus making room for another role player:

Bad luck for the former Georgetown and Texas Tech college student, so the adventure in the Bay ends here. However, this is not the only move of Golden State, which has also recruited an additional player:
The Warriors are signing forward Anthony Lamb to a training camp deal to compete for a roster spot, sources tell me and @anthonyVslater. Lamb has played 26 games for Houston and San Antonio over the past two NBA seasons.

Again, watch out for future decisions by the San Francisco franchise because to accommodate the person concerned, it will be forced to fire one more player. It remains to be seen whether it will be via a cut or a transfer, since the files of Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole in particular remain pending.
A few days before the resumption of the regular season, the Warriors are making the final adjustments to the workforce in order to maximize their chances of a title. Unfortunately for Mac McClung, the latter was therefore not selected and will have to try his luck elsewhere.
