Novethic offers a course to understand the issues, risks and opportunities related to green finance and to decipher its regulatory framework.

Through four training modules, the learner will be able to understand the dedicated tools and strategies, develop a critical analysis of green financial instruments and markets, calculate the green share of a fund or a company, and know the challenges of biodiversity.

FIRST MODULE: The European taxonomy of green activities – Duration: 2 hours

A module to know the global framework of the taxonomy, its principles and mechanisms and to have all the keys to comply with its obligations.

The basics of taxonomy

  • Targets and challenges
  • Demystifying taxonomy jargon (significant contribution, thresholds, DNSH, activities in transition)

The influence of taxonomy on corporate reporting

  • Technical eligibility criteria for the taxonomy: thresholds, standards, best performance
  • Case studies: good and bad environmental reporting practices

The benefits of the taxonomy for Green Finance and its limits

  • The green share of investments, the new impact indicator
  • Limits: partial, poorly standardized data and topics not covered in the taxonomy

SECOND MODULE: Panorama of strategies and regulations in green & climate finance – Duration: 1 day, 7 hours

A module to identify investment strategies with environmental benefits and articulate commitment and reporting in green finance.

General framework

  • The major benchmarks (Paris Agreement, TCFD, etc.)
  • Essential actors and initiatives (Science Based Targets, Climate Action 100+…)

Analysis and management of environmental risks

A Novethic green finance expert, Nicolas Redon is particularly knowledgeable about the European green taxonomy and the analysis of the risks linked to climate change weighing on portfolios. He is also a fine connoisseur of the European Union’s sustainable finance strategy.

Pedagogical approach

Novethic trainers and experts use a variety of teaching methods and favor interactivity: quizzes, surveys, interactive games, demonstrations, experiments (case studies, simulations, etc.).

Novethic training combines theoretical teaching and analysis of current events.

Educational means

In personthe room is equipped with a video projector or a giant screen, whiteboards or paperboards, as well as electrical outlets for connecting computers and telephones.

From a distance, the training is done by Teams. The exercises and moments of interactivity are provided through dedicated tools (Klaxoon, Menti, etc.) via the creation of sub-rooms or screen sharing. The PDF support is sent after the training.

Assessment methods

The knowledge of the learner is evaluated in the form of a quiz at the end of each training.
