After missing the first three preseason games, Anthony Davis was finally available for Darvin Ham. LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley were on their side in civilian clothes.
Opposite, still no Klay Thompson or Draymond Green for the Warriors. Absences which did not prevent us from seeing an extremely pleasant match, and close from start to finish.
On the Golden State side, Stephen Curry is aggressive from the start, but Anthony Davis is a huge problem for Golden State. In a five “small ball” where he finds himself pivot, the interior stretches the defense of the Warriors and can punish at all levels: at 3-points, at mid-distance or by attacking the basket.
Los Angeles takes the lead in the second quarter but Jordan Poole reassures everyone. The “combo” winds through the Lakers’ defense and alternates between its own baskets and services for its interiors.
Brilliant, he scored 18 points (out of his 25) in the third quarter. It’s the “Poole Party”, which does not allow the Warriors to take off.
And while the fourth quarter is an opportunity to see the benches of both teams at work, it is ultimately the Lakers who pocket the victory (124-121), with in particular the big skill of Matt Ryan (20 points 6/9 from afar) and the impact of Kendrick Nunn (21 points, 7 assists).
