Embarrassed by her knee, Diandra Tchatchouang officially ended her career at the age of 31.

An important player in the French women’s team and the French championship for the past ten seasons, Diandra Tchatchouang (1.89m, 31 years old) ended her career as a basketball player. The announcement, expected for several weeks, was made official on Monday.

Embarrassed by her knee, the native of Villepinte should have gone back to the operating table to continue her career. Once again, once too many, as his last club, Lattes-Montpellier, explained in his press release:

Away from the courts since the Tokyo Olympics last August, following the appearance of new knee injuries, Diandra was keen to return to the field for the second part of the season. Nevertheless, check-ups proved that only an operation could allow him to return. It would have been the sixth operation in his entire career. That is why, at the age of 31, Diandra wanted to retire from the professional world.

Flagship player of the 1991 generation with Allison Vernerey, Diandra Tchatchouang first passed through the NCAA, in Maryland, before evolving in Lattes-Montpellier, Perpignan, Bourges (from 2013 to 2018) then Lattes-Montpellier again (from 2018 to present). At the same time, she had many campaigns for the France team (more than 100 selections, four-time vice-champion of Europe). As a symbol, her last experience as a player ended with a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Very active outside the courts throughout her career, Diandra Tchatchouang should not miss new projects to pursue her professional life.
