21Shares Announces New Market Managers and Expands into the Middle East

21Shares today announced the hiring of three new associates in Europe and the Middle East. Sherif El-Haddad, Head of Middle East, Marina Baudéan, Head of France and BeLux and Oliver Schäfer, Head of Germany, have joined 21Shares and now bring their extensive financial and sales experience to the business.

Sherif El-Haddad joins 21Shares as Head of Middle East and will be based in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates – where he will lead 21Shares’ market expansion in the region. Sherif El-Haddad worked until now as Head of Asset Management at Al Mal Capital. Previously, he was Managing Partner at Pearl Capital Management and led the Asset Management department of EFG Hermes for over 13 years. Sherif El-Haddad therefore has extensive experience in the financial services sector in the Middle East and brings broad skills and a solid network. Sherif El-Haddad holds a degree in accounting management from the American University in Cairo.

Marina Baudéan joins 21Shares as Head of France, Belgium and Luxembourg and will be responsible for developing 21Shares’ market activities in these regions. Marina Baudéan comes from the traditional banking sector and previously worked in the bond markets in different client-facing roles. In 2000, she started at Tradeweb, a leading platform for online trading, before advancing her career at Barclays, where she set up the BRAX department for over 15 years and where she eventually led the electronic rate distribution department for the EMEA region. Like other 21Shares collaborators, Marina Baudéan therefore decided to leave an established financial institution to pursue a promising opportunity in the world of crypto and blockchain. Marina Baudéan holds a master’s degree in economics and management from ISC Paris.

Oliver Schäfer is the new Head of Germany and will lead the development of 21Shares’ presence in Germany. Oliver Schäfer has over 20 years of experience in leading financial institutions and in service-oriented client relationships. Prior to joining 21Shares, Oliver Schäfer worked for over 15 years for JP Morgan Asset Management. He also held various positions in private banking and brokerage at SEB Bank AG and as a corporate finance advisor and at an independent fund boutique. Oliver Schäfer holds a degree in business administration from the University of Hamburg.
